The largest Navy Commissary and Exchange Mall in the world. The exchange includes sales areas in a large, department store-style setting with specialized retail mall stores, administration areas and warehouse area. The exchange also provides a multi-facility food court with indoor and outdoor seating on the second level. The commissary includes retail sales, nonperishable and refrigerated food storage,. The design challenges required a phasing plan that did not diminish the viability of the existing retail while the new mall was under construction. The Mall welcomes the many shoppers along a allee of mature palm trees, the surrounding landscape buffers utility areas, providing shade and pleasant aesthetic character through a mix of canopied trees and shrubs.
