Who We Are:
Firm History
Komatsu Architecture, established in Fort Worth in 1959 by Albert S. Komatsu, is a second-generation family owned professional design organization. Our firm is skilled in providing architectural, interior design, programming, historic preservation, master planning, and related services to local, state, national, and international clients. We are dedicated to a standard of excellence in every project we undertake.
To this end, we assemble a team with the talents to analyze and define problems, develop solutions, and coordinate and manage the planning and construction process. It is a source of continued pride that new and previous clients choose Komatsu for demanding projects, seeking our services when they need exceptional creativity, thoughtful planning, and strong management control.

Objective
With each project, we listen, observe, and translate your needs and aspirations to produce architecture that captures the stated desires and responds purposefully to each unique site setting and surrounding context.
Our environments challenge our expectations of form and space and allow an imaginative use of materials and color with light. Whether a large complex of interconnected buildings or an intimate space within, every detail is thoughtfully considered, providing moments of delight and discovery.
Technology. People.
Our understanding of your needs, program requirements, and even inspirations are from a range of sources.
Computer-automation is the way we do business, and technical depth in our staff is a company strength. We continually update skills in computer- aided design, design analysis, computer graphics and telecommunications processes. We also know that technical knowledge and expertise must be balanced by personal communication and understanding. A combination of individualized attention and advanced technology allows us to create architecture with sensitivity, quality, and efficiency.

Timeless. Renewable
Sustainable design imagines a human community conscious of its interaction with other parts of the natural system, and to a social, political, and economic system that supports that relationship.
Dean William A. McDonough
School of Architecture, University of Virginia
Sustainable design is a comprehensive process. It demands a balance of communication and consensus, economic expediency and environmental responsibility, natural laws and government regulations. Sustainable design requires understanding the consequences of short-term decisions on long-term plans. We will fulfill our role as responsible architects – responsible citizens – by providing quality design solutions that last. This effort will require the total commitment of our creative energies, technological expertise, and professional dedication.
